π Lead Magnet Club #14: "automate everything but love"
hola! and welcome back!
we're closing in on 1 million DMs sent through leadshark! π€―
thanks for being a part of the journey, if you are a π¦ customer (and its not too late to start posting & automating if you're not haha)
πΉ in this week's club, we talk about:
β michele's n8n masterclass breakdown β why "if you confuse the message, you lose" β ai tool: AI or human? you can now tell
let's keep pushing!
𧲠lead magnet of the week
the n8n masterclass by @micheletorti
3,469 comments β’ 776 reactions β’ 129 reposts β’ keyword: "SCALE" michele posted: "12 hours of recording. 19 real projects. i spent months building this." he didn't promise value. he showed 12 hours of real proof.
why it worked:β β instant credibility: "made $100K+ in 12 months" (hard proof, not theory) β specificity kills doubt: 12 hours. 19 projects. you know what you're getting. β positioned as the missing resource: "the resource i wish existed" (solves own need) β dual CTA: comment "SCALE" OR repost for bonus (virality built-in)
the system:β 3,469 comments (completely automated), no manual work. with leadshark: comment β auto-reply + connection β DM with link β track engagement β log for follow-up. π¬ see the post β linkedin.com/posts/michele-tortiβ
π book of the week
Building a StoryBrand by Donald Millerβ i just read this again last week and found the exact reason most lead magnets fail. it's confusion (of messaging). donald miller's mantra: "if you confuse, you'll lose."
your offer makes people's brains burn calories.β miller explains: "Processing information demands that the brain burn calories. And the burning of too many calories acts against the brain's primary job: to help us survive and thrive." if your hook isn't drawing them in 3 seconds, they scroll.
lead magnets are transitional calls to action.β miller defines two types:
β direct CTA: "buy now" (asking for marriage) β transitional CTA: "download this PDF" (asking for a date) β"Transitional calls to action contain less risk and usually offer a customer something for free. Transitional calls to action can be used to 'on-ramp' potential customers to an eventual purchase."β you're building trust before asking for commitment. and it's a soft-call-to-action (not a direct one)
a good transitional CTA does three things:β β1. stakes your territoryβ β"If you want to be known as the leader in a certain territory, stake a claim to that territory before the competition beats you to it."β giving away your best work isn't generosity. it's claiming your space. β2. creates reciprocityβ β"I've never worried about giving away too much free information. In fact, the more generous a brand is, the more reciprocity they create."β the more you give, the more they remember you. β3. positions you as the guideβ β"When you help your customers solve a problem, even for free, you position yourself as the guide."β βyou're not the hero. your customer is.β you're yoda. they're luke. you are the e-bike that boosts one little pedal push into max gear!
what's at stake?β β"Stories live and die on a single question: What's at stake? If nothing can be gained or lost, nobody cares."β michele's post worked also because the stakes are clear: build profitable AI systems vs. stay stuck with broken tutorials.
bonus ~ try storybrand's free tools:β they built AI tools at storybrand.ai based on the book's framework:
- free tagline creator (requires account)
- brandscript generator
- lead generator ideas
- email campaign builder

π οΈ tool of the week
1οΈβ£ Real or AI Detector
you got a cold DM yesterday. human or AI? this tool tells you instantly: realorai.netβ βpaste any text, get a score:
- 100% human
- 100% AI
- or somewhere in between (?)
sample use cases:β β check incoming DMs: is that outreach real or robotic? β test before you send: does your message sound too AI? β audit your automated DMs: are your leadshark messages too generic? β improve your prompts: if it scores high AI, rewrite until it feels human β
(automation should scale, not replace the human) this tool helps you stay on the right side. π΄ββ οΈ β βπ try the v0.1 today: realorai.netβ
idea: try the real or AI tool on your last 5 cold DMs on LinkedIn.
2οΈβ£ for leadshark users β Pages v2
remember jessie (edition 13) capturing 35,000+ leads? he uses pages on almost all his lead magnets!
how it works:β instead of: comment β DM with link β done you get: comment β DM with page β they answer questions β capture email β deliver resource β auto-nurture
why it matters:β 1οΈβ£ qualify leads: ask "what's your biggest challenge?" before delivery 2οΈβ£ build email list: native Kit integration or API to any tool 3οΈβ£ track everything: map view, clicks, conversion rates β post lead magnet β 1,000 comments β pages captures emails + qualifies β syncs to email β automated nurture β warm pipeline. no manual exports: the system runs itself!
ps. here's a sample lead magnet link: https://leads.sh/l/dh79le3w68zbβ

π₯ webinar recap
last week i joined oleg (go extrovert) and david (growth momentum) for the first social-first GTM breakdown.
three key takeaways: ββ β1. patience winsβ after connection requests, wait. 7-60 days. 20% of prospects DM you first when they see you're human, not a bot. β2. warm-up = 5X resultsβ david's test: cold outreach (10% reply) vs. warm-up via commenting first (50% reply). β3. automate the tedious work, not relationship-buildingβ or in other words: "automate everything but love."

π¬ note from the founder
i went to a wise event in tallinn this week. (with speakers from bolt, lightyear, and pipedrive) β pipedrive's CTO said something that stuck with me: "do one thing really well."
when you're building, it's tempting to automate everything, add every feature, try every channel. but the best companies don't (including pipedrive). they automate the noise so they can focus only on signal.
this is what i mean by "automate everything but love." automate the DMs. automate the follow-ups. automate the whole system if you can. β but responding to feedback, talking to users, creating a really insightful resource for your lead magnet. β‘οΈ this is the part ai cannot replace, nor any automation. β automation is not even a growth-hack, it's what lets you stay focused on one-thing.
building something great, for the people who love it. so, with that:
keep automating everything but π«Ά, βπ ruzgar
